Reference and Teen Librarian Wanted

Reference and Teen Librarian Wanted The Stafford Library is seeking an energetic, customer service oriented Reference and Teen Librarian.

Major duties include: managing all aspects of library teen services (including marketing library services to teens via social media and other means, collection development for all teen materials, reader’s advisory service, and planning and executing teen programs). Additional duties include providing reference service to patrons of all ages, covering the circulation desk when needed, and other duties as assigned by the Library Director.

Bachelor’s degree, prior experience working with teens, and strong computer skills are required. Prior library experience helpful. 23 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, including evenings. $17.31 per hour (at least). Includes one week of paid vacation after the first year.

The Basics of Truffle Making

The Basics of Truffle Making Come to the Library on Monday, May 1st at 7pm to learn the basics of truffle making. The Chocolate Lady, Maria Poirer Brandriff, will be our instructor.

Saturday at the Movies

May 6th - Come to the library to watch "A Dog's Purpose".

The movie begins at 2pm and is for teens and adults, since it is rated PG-13.

Open Art Studio

Monday, May 8th - Come work with other artists...make a special Mother's Day gift...use supplies provided by the library.

This program is from 5:30-7:30pm and is for teens and adults.

Discover Stafford Through Photography

Discover Stafford Through Photography There is 1 session left in this 8-session photography course taught by Kitty Schooley. The course has been offered free of charge as it was funded by FY2017 Regional Initiative Grant. The last session will be Saturday, May 13th from 1:00-3:00 pm.

A reception will be held Saturday June 10th, from 2:00-4:00 pm to display the photographs and artwork.

Science of Super Heroes Stage Show

Monday, May 15th at 6pm Mad Science will present the Science of Super Heroes. Through experiments children will explore the science of flight, how science can make things invisible, how a superhero might walk up walls, and more! Please call to register.

Seed Swap - *NEW at the Library*

Seed Swap - *NEW at the Library* Instead of purchasing seeds, why not swap seeds for your flower and vegetable gardens? Beginning Earth Day (April 22nd), Stafford Library will have a seed swap area set up with seeds for you to choose from. You are not required to donate but since it is a SWAP we welcome donations to grow our collection. When you harvest your garden, simply label and donate some seeds from your favorite flowers or vegetables and see if we have any you would like to take in exchange.

Container Gardening Program

Container Gardening Program Local garden expert, Charlie Guinipero will teach about container gardening. Join us Thursday evening, May 25th at 7pm.

This event is sponsored by the Stafford Garden Club and the Friends of the Stafford Library.

Knitting and Crocheting Group

Knitting and Crocheting Group Did you know there is a group that meets every Wednesday morning at the library to socialize while they knit and crochet? If you would like to join them, bring your own project and come to the library Wednesday morning at 10:30. They generally stay until 12:30 and would love to have you join them.
